Parish Nurse Ministry
Keeping our congregation healthy - mind, body and soul
And now, Lord, consider their threats, and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal, and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant, Jesus. Acts 4:29-30.
Mission Statement:
The mission of the Parish Nurse Committee is to promote and proclaim Christ's healing presence in the lives of the people of the Diocese of Virginia.
A Parish Nurse is a Registered Nurse committed to meeting the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of the whole person, and to promoting wellness through a healing ministry of the parish. She is a volunteer member of the church staff who develops health and wellness programs benefiting the congregational body and surrounding community and a lay leader who assists the congregation to identify, interpret, rediscover, and reclaim its historic role in the area of health/wellness.
The Parish Nurse serves as a health educator and counselor and as a referral source and liaison to commnity resources and services.
